At 8 months hes still growing AND being a teen (when all that careful training goes out the window) so I personally would take a watch and wait and see approach till he is at least a year

I personally would say - go back to basics with the training and keep at it. Watch him carefully about entire females - is he really getting hot and bothered around them? There are actually surprisingly very few entire females about and even less being let out when in season so do see if its those that ate setting him off or hes just a bouncing run, chase and mount everything in sight type of dog.

If he is getting distressed about entire in season females then it is the kindest thing for him to have him done

Entire dogs are not walking around the rest of their lifes in total frustration, it takes a whiff of a female in season to get the old juices flowing so to speak and for many it just doesnt bother them.

My last lad was entire his whole life and wasnt bothered about entire females unill he was 7 - by then he was too old and ill to be done. The boy I have now I had done at 14 months old because he really was in a bad way around entire females and it wasnt nice to watch and obviously as distressing to him as it was us.

However he still humps so please dont think it will stop that as it may well not
