Frustrated Virgin media customer needs help from a Sky plus viewer!

Hi!

Just moved to a new area and found out I can only have access to Virgin media and NOT Sky as I am used to.

Problem is, Virgin TV misses a LOT of the channels I watch. Of particular interest is The Africa Channel on Sky 268. I am hooked on the South African Soap GENERATIONS. It airs everyday but also omnibus on Saturday.

Is there a Sky viewer with a sky plus box willing to record it weekly (omnibus) for me?:T. I will pay all costs for your trouble.:D

I know this may sound really sad but I am hooked on the program!:j:j:j:jplease please please

Can you not watch it online?

I dont have a sky+ box, we're going with virgin to soon lol. x

Just soooo annoyed Virgin does not offer so many channels like SKY

How would you get it off the Sky+ box?

sky plus allows one to record (I assume onto a disc?)

Are you certain you can't get sky in your area? It just seems exremely odd because usually it is only Virgin you can get in certain areas because they work on a cable network so they are restricted to where the cables have been laid.

Sky however is satilite so there shouldn't be any restrictions to certain areas.

Letting agents and neighnours said we only have access to VIRGIN. You just made me think about giving sky a call to double check!

Sky covers 80% of the UK We (i work for sky) cover pretty much all of the uk

I would call them, it could be because theres no satilite installed the letting agent told you that. Not sure on the rules of getting one errected on a rented property.

If its a rented house you need to get permission from the landlord to have a dish put up, as it involves drilling etc.

If you live in a flat and it has a communal dish you wont need a dish put up, if you dont have a communal dish you need permission from landlord/managing agent to put one up again.

gosh i am gutted. Just found out the area DOES get sky but property management do not allow installation of Sky dishes. If only i had known i would have thought twice about taking up the flat! I am missing serious ethnic channels :-(
