there are several different types available and it depends on your laptop. a relatively new laptop may have a HDMI connection, olders ones will probably have s-video. modern LCD tvs will possibly also have the same kind of connection as a pc monitor so you can use the monitor from a pc. hope this helps0 -
Yeah, it depends on your laptop. If you let us know the make and model number...0

VGA (blue with holes), DVI (white with a grid shape) or HDMI (small, long, also carries sound and is best choice if laptop and TV support it).
Check what resolution your TV supports on whatever input you plan to use. For example, just because you have a 1920.1080 FullHD TV, doesn't mean you can input that resolution through VGA. Check your TV manual.0 -
The Laptop is a HP Pavillion dv 1000 the TV a Samsung0

what are you connecting for?
Tv as a monitor?0 -
Yes TV as a Monitor0

We have two HP Pavillion Laptops, both purchased within a short time of each other.
One connects via VGA and the other via HDMI.Everything has its beauty but not everyone sees it.0 -
which model samsung is it?
i use a cable that runs blue to white, and another that is blue to blue, so all depends on what's on the back of your tv
can you take a pic of your tv sockets?0 -

Hello, I have recently purchase a VGA to SCART cable. It came with a female VGA cable end and an adaptor male/male to change the female laptop output to male. But, alas, it does not seem to work.
But the adaptor seems to invert the VGA connection. The 15 pins seem straight through but the trapezium shape has inverted(long edge switches from the to to the bottom)
Is there a different adaptor that doesn't invert?main stream media is a propaganda machine for the establishment.0 -
You mean the plug's upside down worldwheeler? the pins are all the same inside the trapezium, and you just keep the top to the top. I think that's what you're talking about. Maybe a photo would help. If your talking about pins and holes, yes you can get female to female or male to male adaptors.
I've never heard of a VGA to SCART lead.0
