Is this the cable coming from the LNB or for something else?

Have you tried it yet - it should work, but is probably not ideal
  • The cable are coming from sockets. I dont understand there are conflicting websites . Some say they do work and some say they dont.

Irrelevant as it's the wrong spec cable for satellite use!

True - but it may work after a fashion and I was just trying to figure out where the cabling was.
  • Thanks but I just had a satellite company quote me on having an lnb fitted and he said the cables are fine. The only time the cables become an issuse is if they are going over a long distance. I went onto the maplin site and they have a discription of the cable as used for satellite use!

It's not double-screened so it will radiate interference. Don't be surprised if your picture quality is poor. (Don't believe Maplin. They sell unshielded sockets "suitable for satellite TV" as well as "LNB splitters" that can't possibly work.)

Indeed, Maplin are akin to Currys in the knowledge stakes.
  • Done a google and most electricals website said that the cable is for satellite use!! I purchased from Edmundson who said it was satellites! The satellite company who came in told me there would be a slight loss but should be fine!

Unless I try it out than I dont know.
    Nice to save.
