Help-----car purchase stolen

Sorry can't help directly, but what I can't understand is why any car stolen and recovered should be removed from any register?

It will always be just that, recovered and potentially, no definately, of less value than a "virgin" one :think:I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)
Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed0 -
flying cod - I might sound niave/stupid - but are HPI able to give any more details regarding which force requested the removal, or even the circumstances behind it? Would it be worth contacting the force in question? Surely HPI shouild have more info on file and poss ref no's/ case no.s?
Have you tried the Assocation of British Insurers for guidance? Surely you also have some recourse with Experian? Any request from the Police should be dealt with across the board -and issued to all bodies holding such details. Have Experian failed to update their records? Maybe your local rozzers could offer some advice as to the procedure in such cases?
As you rightly said, the Coopers long gone, but Id want this sorting before I see another car - after all anyone running a check with Experian is gonna knock £2k of the value of your Golf?..0 -
Just an update: I have been contacted by VW dealer in question who, after a week of faffing about, informed me that my car had been stolen approx 6-9 months before I bought the car hence why it was on Experian. They said it was stolen from the forecourt and recovered 24 hours later (apparently). The dealership said my car's adverse history details have now been removed so everything is hunky dory! (Washing hands of situation).
I am not happy as I would not have purchased car if I knew the histroy and in effect the sales guy has lied to me as I did ask about the car's history when I purchased it. I am fighting this all the way. Need to find proof of where a car's previous adverse history can affect the price. Any ideas?
