T-Mobile Flext/ yourcallworld
Some background to my questions. I'm currently with T-Mobile prepaid, and I'm looking at getting the HTC Hero (or T-Mobile's G2 version). I use yourcallworld to call my parents back in America for 3p a minute. I'd like to keep using yourcallworld or a similar service. If I were to get a traditional contract, I wouldn't use more than 100 or 200 minutes to UK numbers so getting a contract with 600 minutes would be a waste. However, if I could call something like yourcallwork on the included minutes, 600 minutes would make sense. However, I believe that no carrier would have this included, so I'd end up paying extra
Is there anyway to get a flext plan for less than £40? I saw online that they used to be offered, but they aren't listed on T-Mobile site for amounts less than £40. The flext plans look like they would meet my needs the best. I could get the Hero, not have to pay extra to call America, and still have plenty of credit for UK calls and texts. The problem is that I don't use my phone enough to warrant spending £40 a month. I could justify spending £30 or £35 since I'd be getting internet as well, but £40 is just too much.
If I were to use the android Skype app, does that use my included minutes plus any fee from Skype for calling a phone number?

Actually, after doing more research, I think I found something that says that calls to 0775 numbers are not included in the flext plan and that I would have to pay extra on top of the £40. Is this correct?0

I don't know, but can I suggest another direction?
To combine the use of a load of minutes and the need to reach America using them, you might use callthrough on ordinary geographic numbers, mostly with lower rates than that.
See the MSE Callchecker and ignore the ones using non-inclusive numbers like 0844, but look for account-based solutions.
I'd suggest a 18185 account, or perhaps Localphone, or one of the Betamax brands such as Justvoip, which also offer callthrough as well as their headline use from a PC.0
