Yummy!
(don't shop at Tescos, so never would have noticed this myself)0 -
My husband bought some Merrydown Vintage cider in silver cans when he couldn't get Magners. He said it's nicer than Magners and it was £2.99 for 4 cans in Asda, so cheaper too.
I don't like cider - prefer real ales :cool:Here I go again on my own....0 -
Tesco.com and Asda have stopped selling it. Tesco did it for £1.89 per bottle0

is everyone else finding problems finding cans of magners for sale in any of the big 4/5 supermarketsNo Links in Signature by site rules - MSE Forum Team 20

Quite why it's rebadged as Magners here I have no idea. The stuff sold over here is made in the UK and although it's ok, the real deal stuff has a different taste and one I prefer. Bulmers over here is horrid stuff, ASDA are flogging it off cheap and I can see why.fannyadams wrote:http://www.candcgroupplc.com/group_cider.asp
Bulmers, Magners, Ritz, Stag these brands of ciders all 'owned' by one group.
Interesting to see from the Bulmers website -
Bulmers = strongbow, scrumpy jack & woodpeckerdelorean wrote:Yup, there is another Bulmers ASDA are doing though and it's not the same stuff as Bulmers/Magners.
I see why it's call Magners in the UK now though. Informative post ta.
i'll try and clear up some of the confusion between bulmers/magners
bulmers is magners in ireland, however they couldnt use the name bulmers over here since theres a cider company already called that (owners of strongbow and owned by scottish and newcastle) so to cash in over here bulmers became magners, and became the latest thing
s&n here decided to cash in and launched bulmers over here with a slightly different tasting yet cheaper cider0 -
The bulmers original cider has been out for donkeys years and is not a new thing. It is just become more recognized after the popularity or magners. I also think that magners will not be widely available, as S&N are really pushing bulmers original now.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature.
