Magners annoys me !
The marketers are trying to make cider trendy and more expensive and they are succeeding very well.
I have drunk pints of normal cider for years, at a very reasonable price pegged at broadly the price of a pint.
Now lots of places are stopping draught cider in favour of Magners which they can charge another pound for !
Last night I paid £3.80 for one bottle of Magners - they would never get away with this much for a pint of Strongbow - which is broadly the same thing anyway.0 -

Cider has become more "trendy" over the past 2-3 years without the advertising. I've been drinking Magners for the past 18months - 2 years always over ice and it's superb. Usually pay £2.99 in pubs for a bottle which is roughly 1.3 pints. You're paying well over the odds because you're drinking in the wrong place !! As for Strongbow being the same, you've obviously lost your taste buds as their like chalk n cheese.
As someone said earlier Bulmers (who make Strongbow) Vintage Cider is comparible to Magners, but cheaper and more widely available.
Magners can be bought in nearly all major supermarkets, but demand for it is very high so supermarket shelves are often empty. Fortunately my local off licence sells it for £1.79 a bottle.0 -

When I was in Canada , they often offered ice in beer. IN one pub near where I was eorking , a 5 pint jug and a jug of ice was $11. The beer was poor though , as sometime sI woul drink two jugs and get a headache:-)0
