O2 contract up November but lousy credit rating, should I stay or should I go?

Need a mobile so don't want to drop them but I'm fully aware the hassle with retentions isn't always worth it
It's through CPW
I use a lot of texts, and some minutes. Could do with being o2 or orange as the two people I contact the most are on those.
I do need a new phone as well (needs good signal unlike the tocco, and would like decent camera as I use that a fair bit with the kids) although if I need to bite the bullet I'll go PAYG as long as the amount isn't too high.
Would be a bonus if it could tie in with some sort of mobile broadband offer... but the phone is the importance.
Any suggestions please?
