New Mobile Phones

Options
Just a little vent.

Got a phone for christmas last year and its broke already. I have to take it back but I can see it already it will be.

" We will have to send it away for repair this may take ... 2 - 3 weeks "

2 - 3 weeks later It will be "the phone was water damaged so we wont fix it".

this will be swiftly followed by " We have some great contract offers on at the moment"

I personally look after my belongings and never take my near water or ever drop it but everytime I go to get my mobile fixed (which seems to be every year) They tell me its my fault and it does my head in.

Why cant they just make realiable phones.

Im also annoyed at the pathetic quality of the phones you are doing well if yours least a year now.

Nevermind the customer service of these phone providers

Are you sure its the phone? All my phones have lasted a min of 2 years without problems. This is with my dog constantly knocking them off wherever I have it onto the floor.

My wife's phones never last longer than 18 months. I've never had one that failed (except for those I gave to my wife.)

Maybe some people tend to gravitate towards phones with all these new features, which makes them unreliable. Whilst others tend to go for simpler phones. I find that some makes of phones are unreliable, whilst others are better.

Reminds me of an argument I had with motorola a few years ago - they said the phone was water damaged, I said it has not been near water, they replied by asking if I had used the phone outside! Apparently their "mobile" phones were not designed to be used outside as the drop in ambient temperature would cause condensation within the phone which would lead to water damage!

op do you take your phone into the bathroom when you have a bath/shower ? this was the cause of water damage to my brothers phone, you dont have to submerge it for it to be water damaged.

Are you getting new technology mobile phones, or just 'new' mobiles for you (which might have technology from a few years ago) ?

What's your current model ? and the one you had before that ?

In the past my biggest gripe has been the inability of the battery to hold a charge after about a year or so. However my most recent phone (Nokia N82) is now 18 months old and holds a charge which lasts a week with regular use.

I've also dropped it occasionally (oops) and it's never complained.
