A few questions reguarding moving from utilities warehouse

I recently moved house and as the previous tenants were with the Utilities Warehouse I thought I'd give them a try but now after the first bill I'm already thinking of moving to someone else.
The gas and electricity will be no problem, I just have to give 28 days notice according to the T&Cs but I'm a little bit confused about the Phone/Broadband.
The phone line is up and working but we still havn't got a broadband connection (its due to go live on th 24th Sept). The T&Cs state that:
"You may cancel any Services with immediate effect and without penalty by notifying us in writing within
seven days of first receiving these terms and conditions"
so I do not believe I will incure any cancellation fees as we recieved the T&Cs yesterday (21st Sept).
My question is if I cancel before my broadband line is active will I need to get a MAC code to move providers?
Thanks
Ben

When it was set up I was told my exchange was non-LLU
edit: and was thinking about talktalk if they are available in my area0 -
The Plot Thickens.....
So I phoned them up to cancell my phone/BB and even though it states in the T&Cs I can cancel within 7 days of recieving the T&Cs without penalty, the call centre moron tells me that I have entered a 12 month contract when I had the phone line installed.
The funny thing with this is that I the phone line was already in there before I moved in.
They say it was installed on the 8th August. Now I moved in on the 22nd August so this was obviously nothing to do with me and therefore I have not entered in any contract with them.
What is the best course of action to take? what should I say to them? do I threaten complaining to Ofcom?0 -
We had no contact with UW before moving to this property, infact we had never heard of them.
We can only asume that the previous tenants were with UW as there was a letter to "the new occupants" on the doormat when we moved in and I believe that they were the suppliers for gas and electricity.
We phoned up a couple of weeks ago to sort out all our utilities so the first time we spoke to UW was a week or 2 after we moved in.
We said we would require the cheaper of the two broadcall packages (Standard Package).
The phone line went live not long after this and are still waiting on the BB to be activated but now want to cancel asap. At no point did any one come round to install the phone line0
