    I knwo what you all mean about not livign near work ...but thats cos you all live in London somewhere.

    There are a lot of people who live in other cities or other counties even, who come to work in London M-F and then go home to their families on weekends. These are the people who want the convenience of being near work as they know they won't be there on weekends.

    Everybodys scenario is different - some people would rather live near work and pay more to rent than have long journeys into work (as well as the travelcard costs). Others prefer a bigger house further form work and dont mind the 1 hour plus journey into work and them back home each day.
