Hi everyone -
Well done on finally posting those blimmin letters Mogchops!
Great result on the Quidcoing Fay - well done!
Best of luck for tomorrow Milly!
1) Went to work
2) LSD - £1.60 on a sandwich because I forgot my packed lunch. Doh!
3) SCs 2 x 10p
4) Checked bank, quidco etc
5) Store cupboard dinner
6) Resisted T's pleas to 'call a taxi' for the ten minute walk home from school! :rotfl:
7) Off to pub quiz tonight and will buy drinks with winnings from last time. ( The nice man keeps them for your next visit)
I've just bumped into my tenant who casually informed me that she has just dumped the living room carpet because it was dirty and can I buy a new one? I've been trying to find out if it is my responsibility or not, but either way I am rather annoyed that she didn't ask me first. Humph! It seems quite a grey area.
Have a good evening, L x0 -
Lurleene - I rent properties out and if my tenant did that they would be buying the new carpet, however, had they asked me first I would have bought them one/gone halves with them (for a dearer carpet). The carpet was your property and they (should) have no right to get rid of it without asking you. Another option would be to replace it using their bond money. You could argue that the carpet would clean (rug doctors hire them from B&Q are amazing). However, knowing how property law works for the tenant, I am not sure of what the law would say on this.
My living room carpet is filthy, but only 2 years old, it will come up a treat when I rug doctor it soon. They had no right to get rid of your contents like that.
On the vinegar front, will be interested to see how everyone gets on, but I LOVE IT!! Its my new MSE/OS fave tip.
I have today (in addition to my list)
- arranged to switch my buildings and contents, £1 a month cheaper, better cover, but more importantly £100 cashback!
- got DS some more cheap trousers, 2 for £5 in matalan, he is potty training and I just cant keep up with the washing from it
- bought him some slippers for £1 in charity shop, little on the small side, but nevermind0 -
Mogchops - you 'nana - you did make me laugh!!!!
Waves to painted lady - good advice there for Lurleene
who's little T clearly has the right idea - TAXI!!!!! (cheeky tenant by the way!)
I am just trying to work out my DFD - lol not the brightest here
Lots of great stuff on here - I like the vinegar one painted lady I am sure you told me that one last year
and I have used it since when I can.

Weathers a bit fierce here - substitute snow for rain and you get the idea. Total debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.
Total debt as of 28/4/19 £7867.38:eek:
minus 112.06 = £7755.32:money:
:money:Sleeves up folks.:money:0 -
Thanks Fay
:D
Thats one of the things I love about this site, the encouragement and support from everyone really helps me to get on and do things that I would otherwise leave to fester!!!
Is it a bit chilly up your way then, down here in the south it is still quite ambient!!! Only been wearing short sleeves today with a cardy, no coats, & still quite mild this evening!!
Is good though, the longer it stays mild, the less likely the heating is to go on!!!0 -
Evening all - been away for a few days due to being bonkersly busy with school etc
It's all going well so far though - hope it lasts
My little list for today...- Breakfast at home
- Took packed lunch to school
- Made tea from storecupboard
- Drove sensibly to preserve petrol
- Checked banks - all as expected
- Dog grooming lady only charged me £22 instead of £40ish as the place has new management and they're treating loyal customers
- Walked dog for free exercise
- Finished all wedding faffing (Oct 3rd:eek:) - just have to go for final frock fitting on Thurs and its all done
- Made lunch for tomorrow for uni whilst making tea
- Staying in tonight to save cash and waistline!
- Only spent £2 today (on Nytol, can't sleep!)
- Had a little tidy round the house
- Tried phoning student loans people - AGAIN - can't get through - AGAIN!
- Jumper on instead of heating

Today - MOGCHOPS in your little short sleeves
I wore, underwear, tights, socks, jeans, a vest, t-shirt, polo neck and a fleece.

Heating is on and I am under a cover!!!!!

Hi kids

I'm doing so badly these last few days I'm thinking of starting a thread "What NON dfw things have you done today?"
However, today at least I have:- over-cooked this evening so I have food for lunch (that won't leak!)
- checked accounts online
- finished a pile of stuff for work pre-deadline - yay!
- got the bus home - cheaper than the tube

I'm sure you'd get a great following Honeybear. My non-DFW confessions would mostly involve pizza.
I've just got back from my pub quiz having earned enough last time to buy this week's drinks and enter again. :jGot 139 out of 160 this week, so hopefully will have won a bit back next week too! I love this quiz cos you get given the questions over 4 papers and go at your own pace, rather than hang around til closing time.
Anyhow - painted lady - thank you for your advice! You voiced what I felt, i.e. her removing it made things much more difficult, and maybe I would have been prepared to replace it if she had asked. I think tomorrow I will ask to go round and discuss it. Hopefully we will come to a happy agreement. I hate confrontation.:o
Well done My mess on asking for the pay rise - must've took guts, but I'm sure you're worth it!
Wow on the DFDs Fay - which one are you gonna go for?
Rachel - not surprised you can't sleep - new uni and a very very imminent wedding! Nytol is money well spent, methinks!
OH is watching America's Next Top Model at the moment. For that hour of the wekk he seems strangely hypnotised. I guess this is his reward for being the designated driver and getting Mum ( babysitter) home!
Night all, L x0 -
Evening all,
I have:
showered using free shower gel I won
tidied the house and sorted the washing ready for valuer tomorrow
took my mum out for the day and we went for lunch, total cost £55
no dinner as lunch was big enough :j
sort out pets & fishNo you're not a vegetarian if you eat any animal or fish, so do not insult genuine veggies by calling yourself one!
Thanks to everyone who posts competitions. You are the stars of the board :T:j:T0
