you may well be in "good health" Tr@cker... but what about those around you? I only say this as my step-mum has smoked for 45 years and we've probably suffered more than her! I don't mean to preach - everyone has the right to choose, etc etc, but do think smoking is a pretty selfish pursuit!

That is another issue though - this is a finance forum not a health one.

I can't stand it the way on some forums even the word cigarette is mentioned before the health police come marching in and drags it way off topic.

I apologise... I realised after I'd posted that reply that I had taken the thread way off course and unintentionally got on my high horse... forgive me :o

again, apologies for going off course - all treats can indeed be deemed selfish in terms of being about self-gratification... I didn't mean it entirely that way, but I won't go on anymore for fear of hijacking this post completely and turning it into a battle... I will go now :o

Mine was hot chocolates from Pret-a-manger or starbucks, i would always tell myself i would not get one the next day but i just couldn't resist it and i felt like i'd forgotten something if i didn't have one! It took me ages to get out of the habit of buying them. The warmer weather has helped as now i just don't feel like having a hot drink. Also i now have a packed lunch so don't even go to the cafes anymore.

One thing i still do is buy chocolate or sweets when i go to the shop to buy milk, it's like my reward for walking to the shop. Must start taking correct money with me.

Sorry I was a bit harsh too - I agree that smoking and the rights and wrongs of it in terms of health benefits and how it affects others is always a good debate but just not for here.
  • bits of things for my dd are my weakness, i find it hard not to pick up things that i think she'll like, although i'm lucky that she doesn't really ask for much, its a definate weakness wanting to treat her.

  • I'm another Latte addict - for me it has to be peppermind so I was really pleased when Starbucks started selling Peppermint syrup and bought a couple of bottles. It wasn't the same in regular coffee, so for my birthday DH bought me an espresso maker (bought as in was told - "my birthday present is being delivered next week see if you can make time to wrap it" - he didn't!). Presto lovely peppermint latte.

Course it turns out Starbucks were only selling the syrup for xmas and I cant get any more, anywhere. HELP ME I'M AN ADDICT. So I'm back in store buying latte again whenever I hit the shops.

Oh and Radley handbags, started after I wanted a bag to go with my very expensive laptop bag...

I think my weaknesses are things for the children...some things are soo cheap and somewhere my brain seems to interpret this as 'go on, it's cheap, get a few'!! Primark is a killer, as although so cheap, I often buy things the kids don't need as things catch your eye.

Magazines used to be a weakness- up to £25 a month. Now I have one on subs and one sub that was a present. I only buy the SW one bi-monthly anyway. So much better.

Food is a problem. Have gone off track with grocery challenge this month after doing so well last month. *sigh*

Cigarettes, which funnily enough I smoke more when I can't really afford them!!

Bits and bobs, I have a wilkinson store and a quality save store just a one minute walk down my road and I just have to call in and see what they have in stock, I have withdrawals if I don't go in!!
