selling signed books

I won some signed jacquline wilson books, tracey beaker. Theyre new as DD is too young but wondering where is the best place to sell them?

One is limited edition of 2000 and signed the other just signed. Are signed books worth anything even?
Wins so far this year: Mum to be bath set, follow me Domino Dog, Vital baby feeding set, Spiderman goody bag, free pack of Kiplings cakes, £15 love to shop voucher, HTC Desire, Olive oil cooking spray, Original Source Strawberry Shower Gel, Garnier skin care hamper, Marc Jacobs fragrance.

There is no special site for selling signed books and you can't use the obvious ones. All mine have done very well on ebay.

I think your only option would be local small ads but I doubt you'll get much interest, I can't think of anywhere at all apart from ebay and Amazon where you would get any interest at all .

The problem with signed books and CD's is that they have so many of them now that they are worthless. Often on play and amazon you can buy signed editions for the same price as the normal edition. Kept them for 50 years and then see if they are worth anything then. Or donate them to a local charity to see if they can auction them off.

I think then that if they didn't sell on ebay they are probably not worth extra and since those authors are quite prolific you probably have the equivalent of 1p novels on your hand.

  • You can definitely sell them as Collectable on Amazon (and I think Play as well). I've sold a handful of signed books on Amazon, but there doesn't seem to be too much demand.

OP can't use Amazon as her account is blocked, but I do agree that whilst they can be listed there as collectable they don't go very well. All my signed books have done much better on Ebay, especially some of the cult horror and sci fi books.

Hi, I hope i'm not raising any false hopes here, but I tried a quick search on abebooks and certain hardback signed editions do seem to be worth something.

I think the rather high costs for selling on Abe books might outweigh any possible sales value unfortunately.

  • I won a signed bookplated HP and half blood prince when the book came out. I don't know whether to sell or keep for future and then sell. A copy went for £1000 on ebay a few years ago and one has gone for about £750 since. I don't need the money at the moment. I assume it would be worth more in the future when JK is no longer around? Sorry that sounds bad but you know what I mean...
