Does it work?
If it gets to the new address ..... you've committed fraud against Royal Mail.
If, as often happens, it gets to the Bank address (for reasons I don't intend to divulge) ... you've committed fraud against the Bank.
Not worth it .. for the price of a 1st or 2nd class stamp. If you want to test the depth of the water .........don't use both feet !0 -
In my limited experience (did this during my old student days), they treat it as a standard letter with no stamp.
It worked say 2 or 3 times out of 5... but when they caught it, they would charge the person on the other end something like £1.50 to receive the item.
If it didnt have a return address and they didnt pay the high fee, it wouldn't be returned.
No doubt they have clamped down further since then, so the above sentiments are correct. Don't do it, it won't work.0 -

Just remember - what you are writing about are not pre-paid envelopes. They are Business Reply Service envelopes - payment is made after the envelopes are delivered, so they are post-paid.0

I have a few people try this with me and I have had to go down to the sorting office to pay the postage and penalty. Many people wouldnt bother so you run the risk of your post not getting there as well as commiting fraud.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.0
