Right To Claim Compensation From Tesco?

Then its most likely to have been damaged pre delivery to store. Can't imagine there are staff who knowingly put broken glass on the shelves.
Hope everything is ok tomorrow
I agree that this probably happened before they reached the store. OP has stated that the 12 packs are well packaged and it was when the packaging was opened that she saw there was blood on the bottles.
If blood had of been visable I'm the OP wouldn't have bought that pack so I don't see how the staff could have seen what was inside the packaging either. I don't see that Tesco's have knowingly sold a blood splattered product. IMO the problem is with J20's manufacturers and this is where Tesco's will be investigating. If you want a company to be panalised surely this would be the J20 manufacturers.0 -
I am concerned at people drinking out of bottles, you never know what's happened to them before you get them home.0

This is exactly who I am aiming at J20, but I had to register it with Tesco as I purchased it through them. But I am sure in there contract they will fine J20. When I use to work for Yeo Valley some years ago, the contracts with the big supermarkets, ment if something like this happened they were subject to be fined upto £25,000.0

i had a bottle of wine which was delivered by tesco and when i opened the packaging...it was a pack of 6 bottles...one actual broke..it sort of just came apart.
I took it back to tesco and they logged it to ho but a letter came to say I would get contacted by the manufactureres later.. but now 2 years on I am still waiting!!!0 -
The normal process for a "product report" in Tesco is to be logged on the till just like what happened to the OP. All the systems are linked, so after a week or so to allow for the investigation to start, I'd phone Dundee customer services on 0800 505555 and ask for an update on whats happening.0

Gosh, that really is awful, I can understand your distress and anger, I hope your daughter is ok.
Do let us know the outcome, I can understand why you are complaining, I am not one to complain either, but in circumstances like this, I think you have every right to! Whoevers fault it is, it is totally unacceptable and yes accidents happen, but goodness me, someone somewhere is at fault for allowing these blood stained and broken bottles to be on sale to the public.grocery challenge Sept 2012 £21/£3990 -

My uncle used to be a landlord and refused to drink anything out of the bottle - crates of bottles left outside, rats crawling over them etc. I'm sure that doesn't happen nowadays with soft drinks anyway but still makes me feel euggh!0 -
What flavour was it? Because if it was one of the reddish-orange ones and it got broken and leaked then a sticky fluid like that may well dry to a blood-like colour, especially after it oxidised. That's far more likely than someone cutting themselves on a bottle, bleeding profusely all over the other bottles without rendering the packaging useless then sneakily replacing the box. It would have been easy to tell btw if you'd run one of the bottles under the tap to see what came off.
Did you take some photographs? Never mind if you didn't because the Tesco labs will be able to identify the substance. In the meantime I'm not sure I'd advise a rush to get an HIV test...these things follow you around, you know, for insurance purposes etc. Wait and see what Tesco says.Val.0 -
Hi All,
Well first of it was Apple & Mango J20, secondly im pretty sure it was not a stained drink, but I have taken our daughter to the doctors today, who has said she has to have Hep B jabs (3), will probably be looking to do blood test for Hep C, and there unsure about test for HIV until they have spoken to a disease dept at the hospital, which I will find out when we return later this afternoon.0
