Right To Claim Compensation From Tesco?
Comments
-
Accidents/mistakes happen. Personally I would hope for maybe a giftcard as suggested.
I'm not suggesting you are but I hope it's not the 'Tesco Factor' why you are asking about compensation. There are far too many people who see a large rich company and see £ signs. Would you want compo if this happened with drinks from your local independant corner shop?
Anyway, keep us updated with what happens.0 -
Accidents do happen, but it is a BIG heath issue, how would you feel if the shoe was on the other foot? and it was you child?.
And the fact it was Tesco is the fact I expect higher standards! I have never claimed for compensation in my life, I am not someone that sees an oppurtunity, I am someone who believes in principles.0 -
Well I'd make sure my child was ok by seeking advice from NHS Direct/ my GP. And working in retail myself, there is a fair chance the pack was damaged by a customer picking it up, dropping it and then putting it back. Happens more than you'd believe as many people have the 'If i tell the store, I'll end up paying' guilt. Tesco's fault? Maybe, maybe not.
Do what you believe is right, I'd be interested in Tesco's response.0 -
Maybe the case, but if they cut themslef that badly, you would assume blood on the outside too, and this broken bottle wasnt on the outside. I alrready have an appoinment with the GP tomorrow for my daughter.0

Then its most likely to have been damaged pre delivery to store. Can't imagine there are staff who knowingly put broken glass on the shelves.
Hope everything is ok tomorrow0 -

You're right to be concerned, it is a serious matter. Have you given any thought to the fact that the doctor may suggest an HIV test for your daughter ?.................
....I'm smiling because I have no idea what's going on ...:)0 -
Yes I came to realise this, and it has casued alot of distress in the family. I think what has happened is totally unacceptable, and I shall not be settleing for a £50 giftcard as people have suggested. I am not out for the money, but I feel the company should be properly penalised, even if they gave the money to a charity.0

In your shoes, I would be talking to Environmental Health..................
