just moved and need broadband

Just moved into a flat in Edinburgh, it doesnt currently have internet or an active phone line, what am I best to go for?
Only staying in flat for 6 months but Tiscali told me you can move the contract to a different address if you move. I find all the different offers really confusing though and it's hard to chose the right thing.
Basically need unlimited downloads (30GB would be ok I guess). But there's the phone activation and stuff probably as well isnt there? Can anybody help me decide properly?
I just spend 15 minutes waiting to speak to BT and then the person hung up on me because I was 2 metres away on the computer waiting and didnt get there fast enough!
