Hi
I did a hige clean up of my computer in March this year which really sped up my laptop. However since then it's been getting slower again, to the point where I can back on here in July to ask for advice. It did as suggested (a couple of Hijack this items were stopped at start up) but it's still running slowly and I can't think of anything else to do!
Here's what I've done so far:
Defragmented
CC Cleaned
Disc clean up
Malwarebytes
Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

My personal preference would be to get rid of these as well, but its upto you, especially if you dont want to get rid of spybot SD. I dont particularly like messenger:
I dont know if you need them but I'd get rid of the DPFs, but again you might need them/want them. And services at the bottom I personally dont think you need things like the ipod service running all the time and java etc as again these can be started when needed.. Upto you if you want rid though. My personal opinion is when a pc starts to slow up it's a lot quicker just to back up the data and format and reinstall os. The whole process takes about 4 hours including service packs and updates. Then it runs nice and smooth. Otherwise you can piddle about for days.0

I'd say thats a last resort, you're not factoring putting all your data back onto it and reinstalling all the other software you had installed as well as program preferences for things like firefox etc.
Basically all you need to do is run an antivirus scan, at least two antispyware scans, use ccleaner, clean the registery, defrag the hard drive and registery, clean up you start up items. You can allso uninstall software you dont use. I resently did this on my mother computer as it was running very slowly, running as good as new now.0 -
I would as above do an OS reinstall, to much fannying around IMHO trying to get a PC to run better from a poor state.0

mine was running on hamster power the other week...I installed more ram (now have 3GB instead of 1) and followed what davidmt83 suggested. Also put the computer back to day 1....definitely running alot better than before;)I am not a complete idiot - some parts are missing;)0

Asininity - when you say get rid of these, do you mean run HiJack this and tick the boxes you've highlighted? Otherwise, how do I stop them from running at start-up/get rid of them?0 -
Id really recommend UPDATING malwarebytes and re running a FULL scan as yours is well behind ~
