who gives out p60's for jsa/ib?

Got my husbands p60 so rang tax credits to give them details but as he was on jsa for the first 2 weks of the financial year i ned a p60 for that - and as i am on IB a p60 for that. But every office i ring claim they have nothing to do with end of year figures. I've rang job centre, tax office, and none can help or tell me who to ring!

When your husbands JSA ended he should have received a P45 which he should have passed onto his new employers. They should then have added any previous "earnings" to his earnings from them and entered this all on P60 (if he has reveived it yet) I know that this is the time of the year for them to be issued but maybe his employer is a wee bit slower).
As for your IB. - A P60 should be issued automatically at the end of the tax year for all taxable benefit recipients if they are in receipt of benefit on 5th April.

I am not sure if the exercise to do this has been done yet but if not it will be very soon.

    Hope this helps

Just been checking a few things out and I think that P60s should have been issued on 7th or 8th April.

Maybe you should contact your dWP office that pays your IB and ask for a duplicate to be sent or a statement of your benefits for last tax year.

Don't let them tell you that this isn't possible because it most certainly is.

All the best with the tax credits

Hi, can anyone help me with this one...

I was made redundant last year, September, and signed on. DWP has sent me a P60U with my JSA income but not a P60 with my previous earnings.

My previous employer says they won't be issuing a P60 because I was not employed by them at the end of the tax year.

...so will the DWP be sending me a P60 or do I not get one?

    TIA

i got my inc.ben P60 yesterday so they are coming out slowly.
must be all those scroungers clogging up the system!:)
Every day above ground is a good one ;)
  • I've had to give P60's to my employee's by tomorrow (and have sent them to the IR by tomorrow too) so if someone hasn't received their P60 then I think that's seen as breaking the law. They should chase their employer and give them a sharp poke in the eye ;)

P60's need only to be issued to those employees still working for the company at the 5th April 2006

If you are employeed by a company and still have not received your P60 the deadline for the company to distribute them to you is 31st May 2006.

    To Smarmo,

When P45s are given to the Jobcentre by new customers & input to JSAPs (the JSA payment system) a tax reconciliation is carried out on the figures.

If the tax paid is out by 10p or more - either way - then the Tax code will automatically become an 'x' one, and the relevant Tax Office will be informed (automatically via computer).

Ideally, the Tax Office correct it, then send the corrected info back to the JSA computer.

However.........(you knew this was coming, didn't you?!), frequently the info hasn't arrived from the Tax Office by the end of the tax year. In that case a P60u is issued with just the JSA info on it, as the tax office SHOULD be aware of the previous happenings.

The Jobcentre should be able to access the system and see what info was held - unless as OP says the final end of year date has been reached (sounds like it's imminent).

The other possibility is that although you handed in your P45 the info wasn't input to JSAPs.

Is the Tax Reference on the P60 the same as your previous employer one? If that's the case then the first scenario is the most likely, if not then I'm afraid it's the second one.
