Having been the victim of domestic violence, I was really surprised that the OP called 999 for having a spectacle case thrown at him. Had this been followed up during the row with escalated violent acts, such as a physical attack of punching, biting etc or knives being pulled, then of course this would warrant a 999 call, but just a plastic case being thrown in a fit of pique is not on the same scale at all.
