Can't wait for the spring, have so many different things I want to try. I have met so many people who are interested in this now, a stranger in the office hunted me down and said he'd heard a rumour of me running a car on wvo and could it be true. I assured him it was and he was fascinated with the details and the simplicity of it. Talking of simplicity I've found this film of how to change a fan belt-

Any updates now we've came through the cold snap?
I've just got rid of a TDCI Mondeo and aquired a 1998 1.7 Corsa Diesel that I plan also to run on WVO (just a playabout with really, on my list of cars to own one day was one that ran on WVO).0 -
Still freezing down here on the south coast. My cubies in the garage are all soliD- but I have my filters at the ready an am just waiting for the weather to warm up. I reckon as soon as it gets to 15-18c ambient temperature I’ll be on the veg again. Still got my limitless free supply but I don’t do big mileage anymore but free fuel is free fuel. Car was mot’d last week, taxed yesterday and has new brakes all round so I am ready to go. Looking forward to hearing about your experiences with your corsa, what type of fuel pump is it ?0

No idea to be honest, it's the GM 1.7 engine, i'd read somewhere it would be ok so am just going to go for it.
Built up 150 litres of WVO, more to collect tomorrow but it's not very filterable at the moment due to the cold
Just to get me started, I've bought 10 litres from Asda (75p a litre, still cheaper than 111.9) to mix with the 20 litres of diesel in the tank already.
Just to put it in after i've fitted an inline filter.0 -

If it's a lucas pump it'll kill it very quickly.0 -

If you have the bosch it sounds like you are ready to go. Are you gong to pre mix your asda veg with your diesel?0 -
Looking at it again, probably went about 60% diesel 40% SVO. Just put it straight into the tank. Got about 1/2 a mile and it cut out.
Started again no problem and went about 12 miles with no further problems.
I'd cut the fuel line to put the inline filter in so suspect i'd covered the 1/2 mile on what was in the filter then there was a bit of air in there causing it to cut out.
The cars virtually a freebie so if it gets wasted it's no real problem, once i build my confidence on filtering the waste, I'll buy something bigger and probably with 7 seats.0 -

I can get my hands on an unlimited supply of Wesson green vegetable oil from the canteen at work, they just throw it our every week (approx 60 litres).
Now I am planning on collecting 20/30 litres and bring it home where I will filter it using a J cloth in the garage and then add to my my fuel tank at about a 60/40 mix.
Does anyone know if this will work, will I do any damage and has anyone else tried this with an Astra?
Any tips regarding the turbo would be greatly appreciated !Happy chappy0
