moving and need broadband asap

Anyone know what the lead time for getting broadband set up is? I am due to be moving in two or three weeks (still to exchange so not sure exact date yet) and need to get broadband access up as soon as possible in the new house. Its plain ADSL, either from BT or O2 most likely.
For every complex problem there is an answer that is clear, simple and wrong.
