Fed up :(

EA has just rung to say that the house we are buying (vendor agreed to take it off the market upon strength of our offer) has had interest from someone who has offered £9k more than us without a viewing!

It's a probate case and the vendors want him to view property tomorrow and see if he def will pay the price he moentioned.

We had val survey today which came in at the price we agreed on, solicitors instructed, us very excited FTBs.

I hate them all! :(

Just told EA there is nothing we can do- don't want to walk away yet but think the vendor is immoral and have lost faith in the whole purchase.

If we lose money i will write to the vendor and ask for a cheque. arghhhh:mad:

Don't offer more. It'd be madness to get in a fight with someone who offers on property he's not seen.

You can write and ask but you'll not get.

Had it been on market long?

If your sale falls through don't compound your losses by the price of a stamp, until contracts are exchanged both vendor and purchaser can withdraw from deal without incurring financial penalty.
If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales

    Poppysarah,
We CAN'T offer more even if we wanted to - it's been valued at what we are/were paying.

Surely their survey will come in at the same price as ours?

Keep your fingers crossed the other buyer doesn't like it.

Down my way, taking a property 'off the market' means not accepting any further offers or viiewings on it without first rejecting the offer that took it off the market........

    Evidently different where you are.

If you (or they) have the money they can offer whatever they like, regardless what the survey comes in at. ( doesnt mean it is sensible to do so obviously)

Yes that's what i mean- we won't offer more because we don't have money to throw away!

    So cross.
  • How horrible. And as you say, even if it doesn't end the sale, you don't trust the vendor any more.

I know this is rather Pollyannaish, but I do believe things happen for the best, We lost £1800 on a house (survey and mortgage arrangement), we pulled out after the survey showed a (completely unexpetcted) hole in the roof and the vendors wouldn't move on price, but we would have bought right at peak prices, and the house is now worth much less than we would have paid. Sorry that is probably not what you want to hear at the moment though.

Will keep my fingers crossed it all works out for you
