Egg Savings Account rate drops to 2.5%

This might be old news, but the Egg Savings Account rate has dropped from 3.25% to 2.5%; this is the standard variable rate which has dropped from 2% to 1.25%: the bonus of 1.25% for new customers is unchanged.

apparently, you keep the 3.25% rate as long as you opened the account before the rate dropped.0 -
The underlying rate has not changed - it remains as it has done for many months at 1.25%
Accounts opened until recently had a 2% fixed bonus for a year, this fixed bonus for new customers is now 1.25%0
