  • well andy knows a lot more than you about the subject

    Of course he does.

Thats why I have worked in the industry for 13 years.

Managed 5 branchs, 30+ consultants & about 3000 temps over that period.

    Keep trying.. :rotfl:

  • it's a shame all you can do is laugh and not take this subject seriously, it just shows your ignorance and that you don't have any argument :(

what was your signature MSE had to remove?

Whats the point in talking to someone who believes they are right even though they are wrong?

The signiature is a long story.

It involved a discussion on the G20 Protests & The Nottingham illegal mass arrests.

Someone attached to the Police Force thought he was clever. He or she was a complete knob.

Okay but it is not far off, I know that most agencies will be invoicing their client at least £10.00 per hour whilst the worker is getting minimum wage rate as well as also invoicing the client for holiday pay when the agency worker might not yet qualify for it if they have not been there long enough.

Your figures Andy (as usual) are wildly inaccurate. That would mean a margin of 40% - you are lucky to be able to bill above 12% at the moment. (which would be £8.01 - a profit after holiday pay and NI contributions of 86p per hour hardly a rip off)

And FYI - Agency staff qualify for holiday pay from the second they start working.

Can I suggest your backside is used for sitting on rather than talking out of? You might be able to find a job that way. :p
After 4 years of heartache, 3 rounds of IVF and 1 loss :A - we are finally expecting our miracle Ki11en - May 2014 :j

And a VERY surprise miracle in March 2017!

I do not believe you ! last year for an agency I was paid £6.25 per hr and the agency was billing the client £10.75 per hour. I actually saw the invoices as I was working in the accounts Department. Without doing the maths this is about a 66% mark up, way off the 12% you have stated.

I am looking into this thanks to previous posters lineys advice. Last year I worked 5 days for a leading High street agency and got no holiday pay.
I queried this with the head offices wages dept but just got a snotty letter from their wages manager saying how dare I query It Implying we have ripped you off and stated that I had not worked enough hours to qualify for any hoilday pay.

Now you are just getting into unnecessary name calling which is undignified. With respect you do not know my current situation whether I am working, unemployed, now retired or taking a break from employment.
It will never change my view that agencies are not any good for people looking for a job, treat those that are looking for a job with contempt and in my opinion should be completely outlawed

With doing rough maths its about a 25% mark up.

Maths is obviously not your strong point .

    £10.75-£6.25 = £4.50 then £4.50/£6.25 = mark up 72%

Maths is very much my strong point.

I suggest you read the thread again & this time try & learn something instead of repeating the same rubbish.
