Nokia 5800, Iphone 3g or i phone 36s?
I am torn between buying an iphone or the Nokia 5800.
My mac loving brother insists that I MUST buy the 3g s.
However, I only really want to pay around £35 a month with a FREE phone. It looks like I have to pay about £175 for the 3g s to start out with. So is it worth it?
and if not, which is better, the nokia 5800 or the old iphone (just 3g).

I've just had the 5800 and I've now got the 16GB 3GS - I've def made the right choice!0

I went for the Nokia 5800 and it is good enough. I went for it because I couldn't stretch to the price of Iphone and didn't think the option of having so many applications are worth the money (and I still think they are not).
BUT if I could stretch into the price of Iphone, I would go for it. My sister has got one and I prefer the screen and picture on the Iphone... As I want my phone for internet when I am bored at college at weekends the Iphone or Nokia N97 would have been better.
But more pricey!!0 -
well, I have just worked out that I either
a) get a free nokia 5800 for £30 a month, with 700 mins, unlimited text and internet
or
b) pay £90 for I phone 3g s, then pay £34 a month for similar package, but its an i-phone.
Problem is I don't use the phone all that much, i will NEVER listen to music on it, I will prob use the gps cos I always get lost, and I will use it to phone people.
My bro says I will get addicted to buying new apps, but I just can't see it.
problem is I resent paying £30 a month for something that just sin't quite as good as the i-phone!

See my post above...
in your situation I would go for the Iphone. The normal one is good enough.
I only went for the Nokia 5800 because I got the £20 a month deal -800mins 1600 txt unlimited internet - contract only 12 mths but SIM only with O2 when they had the £100 Quidco cashback offer.
So then I had £100 to buy the phone and so I got the Nokia 5800 (second hand), but the whole situation arose because I didn't want to sign contract for 18mths + for the Iphone...
Now I would like one!!0 -
Don't get the 5800 if you are never going to use it for music. I really like my 5800 and i use it for all sorts but also music. The camera is pants on the 5800 by the way but lots of other bits make up for that. If i was spending over £30 on a contract then i'd IPhone it but seeing as my phone was free and i pay less than £15.00 a month, i'm happy.. Go with Apple.0

ok - so you have convinced me - the iphone it is. Should I get applecare protection?????0

I see you've made up your mind, just thought i'd show you this for 5800 http://shop.vodafone.co.uk/shop/deals/nokia-5800-10-mths-hlf-prc-17-50
18 months
600 min
unlimited text
mobile internet
£35 a month but half price for the 1st 10 months so quite a saving
I love the phone myself, good sound, easy to navigate, and the camera pictures are very good quality when taken in normal daylight (when dark not so good). I took this offer back in march.0 -
