Cant tell you how long but found this info
Laptop battery usage tips- A new MSI wind u100 battery usually comes in a discharged condition and with a very low capacity. It is generally recommended to fully charge new battery packs before use. Refer to the users?guide of your electronic device for charging instructions.
- A new battery pack needs to be circled (fully discharged and recharged) three to five times to reach its optimum performance.
- Rechargeable MSI wind u100 laptop batteries will undergo self-discharging when left unused for a long period of time. Thus, it should always be stored in a fully charged state and kept in a cool, dry and clean place.
- To maintain the optimum performance of a wind u100 battery pack, it is highly recommended to circle (fully discharging and recharging) it at least once a month.
- It is normal if a new battery gets warm when being charged or used. However, close attention should be paid if the MSI wind u100 battery pack becomes excessively hot. This may indicate there is a problem with the charging circuit of the electronic device. So, it is necessary to have it checked by a qualified technician.
- New batteries are hard to be charged. Sometimes, your electronic device may indicate a fully charged condition about 10 to 15 minutes when the new battery pack is being charged for the first time. When this happens, remove the MSI wind u100 laptop batteries pack and let it cool down for about 10 to 15 minutes then repeat the charging procedure. Sometimes, a new battery will suddenly refuse to be charged. If this happens, it is then suggested to remove the MSI wind u100 battery from the device and reinsert it.

I was surprised to find no battery charging instructions with the netbook. It does tell you the battery light meanings.
At present it has been charging just over an hour but I expect to leave it a lot longer.£2 Coins Savings Club 2012 is £4.............................NCFC member No: 00005.........

When I first opened the box revealing my brand new glossy black NC10 it was like the Ark of the Covenant, I stood in awe basking in it's glory untill I timidly touched it with my finger........all illusions were destroyed at that point as my fingerprint mockingly stared back at me from its glossy lid!
I do now get some odd looks from my wife as I handle it with her marigolds now :rolleyes:0 -

Hold down the key with "Fn" written on it in blue. (Mine's situated at the bottom left hand corner of the keyboard - but my Wind is American, so yours may be in a different position.)
While holding it down, press the key marked "F11".
Doing this toggles, successively, "Bluetooth On", "Wi-Fi On", "Both On", "Both Off".
Enjoy your Wind: it's a really great little netbook!
Don't laugh at banana republics. :rotfl:
As a result of how you voted in the last three General Elections,
you'd now be better off living in one.
