It is a start you have plenty of time...best to take it slowly in the first place....

Evening all!
Just thought I'd pop by quickly because I saw you talking about running. Have you tried the couch to 5K programme for beginners? If you google it you can find the programme and also there are podcasts you can download to listen to and it will tell you when to walk/run. I've heard some really good things about people starting to run with this.LBM 17th August 2009 Debt at LBM £18,612 Proud to be dealing with my debts.0 -
Hiya Katy
Someone on here has used the couch to 5k podcasts - Bunny maybe? I think the running thread aren't keen because it advocates run/walk, but if it gets an inactive bum off a sofa, then it can only be a good thing."I wasn't wrong, I just wasn't right enough.":smileyhea97800072589250 -
Thanks for that Katy. I think that's the way forward for me, and as Snaggs said if it helps get my fat arriss off the sofa, it's got to be good. To be honest if I was to just run, I think I'd give up because I really am unfit, so it's got to be worth a try ehh :TIs it better to aim for the stars and hit a tree or aim for a tree and land in its branches :think:Loves being a Wonderbra friend :kisses3:

Noooooooo, I didn't mean you!!! I meant inactive bums in general - you've done a 10k already this year, so you're hardly inactive you nutter!!!
Hun, I've done NOTHING since Leeds, in fact I've been positively stationary (is that the right spelling - I mean I've been still, not a post it note)

That's quite alright - I have quite an inactive bum myelf at times so every little bit helps. All this running talk has got me jealous, I'm recuparating from torn ankle ligaments at the moment
I would definitely advocate run/walk as a good way to build up to it - I made 9miles non-stop on my last run before hurting myself and was supposed to be doing the great north run yesterday :mad:LBM 17th August 2009 Debt at LBM £18,612 Proud to be dealing with my debts.0
