Calling a roaming mobile?

My g/f has gone away to the czech republic and I need a reasonably cheap way of calling her phone. I used one of the companies that give you an access number to call and they claimed calls to czech mobiles cost 3ppm but it ended up being charged at 10ppm so im gussing they aren't classed as czech mobiles?

Any advice?

If it's a UK mobile number, that's what you are paying to call. It makes no difference to the caller where the other phone is, and the extra cost is built into the roaming tariff on the other phone

Hi huw, I think you need to check the rate to call the access number with your phone provider. I am assuming the access number has a 0844 or similar prefix. The ppm rates which are quoted with these numbers are normally the rates that BT charge to call them. If you are dialling them from virgin, sky or other providers including mobile networks your communications provider will set the rate, so you should check with them first or use a BT line.
