Why? The reason insurance is high is because of you hitting others car, not damage to your own. When quoting I have found very little difference between thirds party and fully comp.

    Mine has gone from:

    £1500
£1200 (I had an accident in first year)
    £670
Pretty sure my quotes were fairly different, enough to contemplate whether it was worth fully comp anyway.
Mine was around £1k first time though I wasn't the main driver however it seems it would have been that anyway given the online quotes I had afterwards and the cost of my friends insurance.
£700 with an additional driver (bought a 1yr old car with bigger engine capacity halfway through previous insurance)
£500 again with an additional driver (one accident in previous year)
Shopping around for new insurance again soon. I doubt the 1yr no claims will make much difference.

It didn't make any difference and I am still with DirectLine. However next year I will be 21 so I suspect everything will change then.

Also my younger brother went with DirectLine and said I am also (same household) and they gave him extra discount.....

I tried Direct Line the year I went with Endsleigh (£700) but they were quoting far too much. Moved from Endsleigh to Elephant the next year.
