It is pretty nasty the way some companies exploit a little technophobia. So many ads these days with someone speaking excitedly about a product's specs, even if they're not impressive.
Presumably they think that people are convinced that something's good just because they're told in an excitable tone...I have enough money to last me the rest of my life, unless I buy something.

I thought it had solved the problem, but it's just switched itself off again. I left it a while and it turned on again ok, and it's only done it once today which is a big improvement, is there anything else I can do about it?Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.0

Hi, sorry to bother you again. The fatal error message has gone, but the laptop still keeps turning itself off, it's got worse again tonight. Is there anything else I can do? I'm running the 1 click thing again now.Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.0

Ames, how are you using it ?? e.g. on your lap direct, on a cushion, etc ?? If so, it may be overheating, and the cutting off is to protect it from damage. If you're running off the mains, take the battery out (trying to charge it generates heat), and hoover over all the vents and fan housing.........Gettin' There, Wherever There is......

On a duvet on my lap.
I'll try hoovering, and taking the battery out. It does have a lot of crumbs all over it, I wondered if some could have got inside, would hoovering over the back help with that?
Thanks for the suggestions. Can I take the battery out and still use it?Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.0 -
On a duvet on my lap. Probably overheating then....put it on a big book on the duvet, the hard surface will ensure some airflow around/underneath it so it can "breathe"...

Thanks for the suggestions. Can I take the battery out and still use it? Yes, shouldn't be an issue, and as above, it'll generate less heat internally
Hope this helps......Gettin' There, Wherever There is......
