  • BTW, my kids are 12 & 14 and don't get any (but they do get plenty of extra's and only have to ask if they want something - the answer might be no - but they can ask!!)

My DS has a little dog walking job at the weekends and earns £6 from that, it tends to get spent on gaming!!!

  • 2 DD's both 8, they each get £10 on the first of the month, they then get deductions through the month for being naughty etc, whatever they have left at the end of the month is what they get, generally about £7.50.

Aiming to be debt-free, and have my degree, by 50 ! :j
  • My DD is age 5 and gets £2 a week paid directly into her savings account... She also has the opportunity to earn 25p a day for good behaviour... If she earns the full 7 days worth of 25p we then give her an extra 25p to round it up to £2 she usually spends this money on a little something... If she's been good enough...

mine dont get pocket money as such, dd (7 next month) goes to Beavers, she also does tap and ballet, ds (12 in Dec) goes to scouts, and has piano lessons.Although I do give them £1.00 occaisionally if they've been helpful/good.
I provide the children with a tuck box filled with goodies (probally put in about £1.00 worth of sweets/choc bars), enough to last a week but if they chose to eat it all in one or two days then that is down to them!

We did do the pocket money route but i dont think they were actually old enough to appriciate it.
Ds also has £5.00 per month top up on his phone.
He and a friend started car washing on a saturday morning, they did it once and haven't bothered since! I think they realise it's hard work :rotfl:.

Two boys 1 aged 8 and 1 aged 13 don't get a bean in the form of pocket money (bad mother I know lol)

They do however have lots of after school activities that need paying every week, I also top up 13 year old mobile when needed.

 now I can hit the submit button
