Firefox won't open.

I click on the icon or try to open it through the start menu and nothing is happening. I get the little eggtimer thing for about half a second and then nothing. It's not the security - tried pausing it and it didn't make any difference. Any suggestions - it's not the newer version, it's 2.0.
Thanks

Go into Task Manager, the Processes tab, and right-click on any instance of firefox.exe, and do End Process on it. Do this for ALL of them. Then try restarting it. Otherwise uninstall / reinstall?

  • On a windows system, hold down Ctrl, Alt and Del and task manager should start up.

Found it. There isn't a firefox.exe in there though. Looks like reinstalling then. Thanks for the advice.

You mentioned it was the old version - you might be best of updating, that often fixes problems. I think Firefox has come a long way since 2.0 - definitely worth a shot. Just find and download it using internet explorer. (which i'm guessing is on your PC already)

    Hope that helps!

I totally agree with this, I have been using Firefox for years and I would never use any other browser.
