When does a missed payment get notched up on your credit file?

My partner's sim only O2 contract is in my name, and until last month, I payed the direct debit. We switched this to his account. However, he hadn't realised that the bank had blocked direct debits, which meant that the payment failed when O2 tried to take it. I cleared the balance due within a few days of them informing me the payment had failed. Is this something that would be recorded on my credit file?

Thanks

Michael.

If it was sorted within days it won't go as a black mark.

It might go down as a late payment at worst. If it's an isolated incident it won't have any long term effect.
  • It won't be a problem. My old bank, blocked direct debits to vodafone and the bank couldn't work out why so i had to wait for a text message every month warning me they were going to cut me off, then i would pay over the phone by card. They could have rung me to say the payment failed, but instead they insisted on threatening to cut me off, even through i had gone through this with them in great detail for several previous months.
No marks on my credit report.

There are two ways of constructing a software design: One way is to make it so simple that there are obviously no deficiencies, and the other way is to make it so complicated that there are no obvious deficiencies
