  • I always buy my cling film and tin foil from Aldi. Excellent quality and good price. (As are their little sandwich bags too!)

We use catering clingfilm by castleview.

Has about 1000 feet of film and last ages for normal domestic use.

Very convenient to use, has a sturdy plastic segregated edge cutter which is attached to the box - similar usage to a sellotape dispenser whereby the film stays on the cutter's edge ready to be used next time.

I haven't seen it in normal supermarkets but most probably get them in cash and carry stores. I get them from a large Chinese supermarket.

    I would say the same
try and source a big roll of catering film

well I moved to using Sainsburys one in the green box and it is good and you don't seem to get in too much of a mess with it but when getting near to the end of the roll the cutting edge seems to go a bit blunt and the roll starts to go a bit stringy .Its so annoying, as like most people its one of those annoying wastes that no manufacturer has solved I bet there is no end of clingfilm dumped in the bin in this country and as its not that cheap its a lot of cash to be chucking away. Now I pull a piece out weigh it down with small objects and using a very sharp pair of scissors cut off what I need .But I think cling film along with black plastic rubbish bin sacks that break far too easily causes more grumpiness in folks houses than anything else

any tips on how to smooth out creases when using cling film l want to use cling for a craft project thanks
  • Chiming in with an environmental choice - Bacofoil do a biodegradable clingfilm. I've switched to this because I'm trying to reduce the amount of single-use non-recyclable plastic items that I use, and find it has no difference to other cling films.

As others have said, it sounds as if what you need is a dispenser :)

    what are you wrapping?
If its out on a flat surface, then wet the surface. The wrap will grip and allow you to add tension.

hairdryer (carefully) will make the cling film taut if it is securely held all round.

  • Have you thought about using Bacofoil bio cling film? Works well and is good for the environment.
