Hi,
Today the BT engineer came round and replaced our phone line (thanks Madasafish for poking BT into it!). Of course everything isn’t that simple! Ive got all the relevant lights on, dsl, internet, power, but the USB light is flashing. I tried the Ethernet cable and that flashes too. Ive tried uninstalling the software and reinstalling it, restarting etc, switching filters but keep getting ‘page cannot be displayed’.
I cannot even access the router on its number 192.168.1.1 and also get ‘page cannot be displayed’
It’s a voyager 220 I think, and the computer is running Win2k.
Can anyone offer advice on what it could be, im not at home now but my girlfriend is, I know the settings fairly well and will ask her to try whatever you suggest and let you know how it goes.
Regards
Lee

OK try this:
Do not use the USB cable and connect using the Ethernet cable
The software is only necessary if you connect via USB
Click Start, then Settings, then Control Panel
Double-click Network and dial-up Connections
Right click on the "Local Area Connection" icon, and select "Properties" from the drop down menu
The "Local Area Connection Properties" window will now open. Left mouse click (once) on the "Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)" listing and then click "Properties"
Once the "Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) Properties window has opened you need to select "Obtain an IP address automatically" and select "Obtain DNS server address automatically"
Then click "OK"
Now try to login to the router using 192.168.1.1 and enter your ISP user-name/password details
 Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0 -
When I went home at lunch I tried that, no effect unfortunately. Still wont even let me access the router settings either. I going to uninstall software when I get home. Strange thing is it has worked in the past and weve not changed anything!
