you said that some customers are requesting that certain mail is posted on saturdays, i presume that they are paying a premium price for this, as if we wanted a guarenteed saturday delivery, parcel or letter we would have to pay a hefty price for this service, or have they managed to wangled this at a cheap rate too
afraid not,Saturday is just a normal day for DSA
all they need to do is ensure it is injected into the mail stream in time
all that means is getting it to the mail centre/distribution centre in time for processing0 -

didnt realise there was another rm strike thread on the business board
the thread was started to highlight how it would effect businesses, as in cashflow, receiving payments etc, which i thought would have been a relevant topic for a thread on this board.Work to live= not live to work0 -
TBH i wouldnt bother, theres been a few threads and no doubt there will be more0

yes, this thread didn't START as a discussion about who else to use, but about how to get round the problems it might cause with cashflow. That is a very relevant thread for this board!Signature removed for peace of mind0

I just thought as it was quiet apart from me and Custardy running back and though threads, it would be easier.

So no-one's going to tell me where the other thread is then?

I've not read the other thread, I admit, BUT given that it's on the 'debate the economy' board whereas this one started as a suggestion about minimising losses, AND that the other one's a bit longer than this one, my feeling is NOT to merge this one with that one.
Because the opening post here (and some subsequent ones) are potentially very useful in terms of minimising losses.
So maybe we should just keep this one on topic, and those of you who want to argue the rights and wrongs of the strike should head off over there?
While we're at it, there's a thread here about who to use for getting your goods out rather than getting your money in, which some of you might be able to contribute too? I'd still ask you not to rant about RM, however, because that's not helping ...
I have to say that one of my colleagues and I are filled with great joy, because the impending strike is the clinching argument in not sending out Christmas cards this year, which we find a singularly pointless task. So there's a moneysaving angle from it ... review what you send out by post ANYWAY and don't do mailings which aren't necessary!Signature removed for peace of mind0 -

Oooh thanks very much for pointing this out Sue, what a good excuse not to bother this year. Last year I sent out about 150 cards to customers and got about 3 back. I know it's not about giving to receive etc etc, but I do wonder whether it's worth the effort. I'm a magazine publisher so I think I'll publish something in the magazines themselves and have done with. Always assuming RM will deliver the magazines I have to post to customers who don't live in our distribution area (which we hand deliver ourselves)Make £2025 in 2025
