Fidelity Fund - how do I increase direct debit amount?

I have a Fidelity S&S ISA, with a monthly contribution of £50. I want to increase this but I cannot find an option to do so when logged in. I can only find options to make a one-off payment. The help screens weren't very helpful (that I could find).

Does anyone know how I can increase (or decrease for that matter) my monthly payments?

(It's a direct debit not standing order, so I can't instruct my bank to change the payment amount beyond cancelling it altogether.)

Try calling them up. There should be a dealing line available during the working day, they should be able to amend the amount for you very easily.

If you gave registered for fidelity's online account management, you can just send them a secure message to change the amount.
In case you hadn't already worked it out - the entire global financial system is predicated on the assumption that you're an idiot:cool:

I should have said, I've sent them a secure message asking how to do it. But it wasn't clear if I could actually use this to change things, although I guess that is the idea of it.

Seems strange that I can't do it online but I presume there are good reasons.

    Thanks!

With HL you can fill in a form and post it to them.

    Maybe theres something like that.

As I am very bored at the moment and am putting off my washing up after making a delicious chocolate cake, I shall try and see if there is one.

What century are they in?? ;-)

I've sent another secure message as suggested, I shall see what happens. You have to select the type of message you want to send, and I couldn't see one that seemed appropriate for my request so I just chose 'account problem'.
  • When I was with Fidelity, there used to be a drop down box in the secure messaging area for changing monthly savings.

    I agree - 0800 358 4385 works for me :)

  • I got a reply to my message today. In case it's of use to anyone it advised me to click through to opening a new account (?!), and from there there is an option to change the monthly amount.

However, as I'd sent a second request with my change-request, a second reply confirmed they would carry this out.

I did have a look at what they'd suggested but found a dropdown box with no options (other than 'select'). So I'm not quite sure where I'd have gone from there but it's immaterial for the time being.

    Thanks for the replies.
  • Took me ages to find on their new website, but it is there hidden away.
