Help regarding win back in July please

Hi All

When I first of all started comping in July I won this competition here:

Which was for Go Fishing Tickets and a Day Fishing with Matt Hayes.

The tickets for the Go Fishing exhibition where sent out no problem, but so far nothing on the Day Fishing with Matt.

I have contacted the promotion company (not the NOTW) on several occasions and each time they have told me I should have been contacted by the organisers by now and that they will contact them and call me back.

They never call me back and I have received nothing apart from the initial WTC to confirm I have actually won anything.

I keep asking them what the prize entails and they are very vague saying it is a days fishing with Matt, but obviously this could mean anything really...I need to know roughly when this will take place as I am dog sitter and clients book way in advance with me. I am also planning a Ski trip and do not want to book it only for them to call me and say the fishing trip will take place when I am away.

Am I being hasty? The people at the promotion company are very nice about it all when I do call them, but it wears a bit thin when they will say they will call back with info and never do.

Is there a follow up I can do? Should I contact the News Of The World and let them know that so far the prize they advertised has not been delivered?

Any advice welcome.

I had a problem with NOTW in July. I had a WTC on 1st to say I'd won a Wii, then nothing arrived. Someone on here said i had to allow 28 WORKING days but I did start chasing before then.

Eventually, I sent an email to their editor saying what had happened (I had chased it but not really got anywhere) and gave them one week to send my prize or I was going to the ISP. The email was never acknowledged or replied to but the Wii arrived the following morning.

Last time I spoke to promotion company they said they would contact Angling times again and get them to call me.

That was the first time they had said who would be arranging the days fishing with Matt Hayes. I had a little snoop around the net and found that the Angling Times were actually running a similar competition via their magazine with the same prize which ended on the 15th September. So now I am thinking that maybe they are waiting for all the winners before arranging the fishing trip.

I'll give them until the end of the month and then get in touch with the ISP.

Just to update on this. I contacted the ISP and logged a complaint with them and finally received a telephone call from the promo company apologising.
They said that they are not able to deliver on the prize of a day fishing with Matt until at least the New Year and even then they cannot be specific as to when that would take place due to other commitments that Matt has.

So they offered me £1000 worth of fishing gear instead and I accepted.

Still a little disappointed as would have loved the original prize, but as long as the fishing gear is to a decent standard I can't complain really.

Sorry you didnt get the original prize you wanted but does sound like a good deal you got in the end.. well done for chasing up!
