sky plus alternative software

Hi all,

My subscription finally came to and end, and as many of you know, "they" want £10 per month to provide me with the functionality of sky plus.

What?

I bought the box. I own it.

So they want me to pay the tenner to "rent" the software??

That's like buying a computer and then paying ten pounds a month to use windows, innit?

Is there an alternative software that I can load into my sky plus box?

I do not want anything that illegally gets all the channels back, I just want some software for my box that will allow live pause, recording and playback etc.

Is this possible please?

    As far as I know you cant. If you want that sort of functionality with Freesat you'll have to buy a PVR/Freesat box. I recommend the Humax ones

    I'm flat broke. It's why I gave up my sky subscription.

    I've got a birthday coming up soon... ;-)

    2. Buy your own freesat+ box around £250
    3. Do without
