You might also want to refer this matter to Otelo. They are the UK Telecoms Ombudsman. They have the power to force companies to compensate where claims are valid.
I have a feeling that though you have been scammed in this way, that you will not be successful in your claim. But the tirade of complaints relating to 'rogue diallers' is so apparent that it is hard to believe that the UK regulatory authorities will not determine measures to deal with this soon.
