Once DD is up, we are going to visit Lily's new puppies this morning. x

Pleeeeeessssee take some photos, I love puppies :D
  • Morning everyone, hope you are all well today :)

I need to catch up on housework today as i've been ill for the last 2 days (full of cold).
Tesco are delivering my shopping between 10am and 12pm...ordered lots of cheap butter and some £2 chickens, which will get slicey diced and bunged in the freezer :)

Need to pop to the farm later too for some eggs.

Plus have to go through another 11+ practice paper with my daughter, trying to get her confidence up, she passes the tests at home, but then seems to go to pot in the practices at school, so we've got 2 weeks to focus on this!

hope everyone has a good day :)

    morning!

a long weekend at work for me with 2 11 hour shifts and a 10 hour shift over the next 3 days so not a great deal of OSiness here I'm afraid.
I've tidied and hoovered the house, not enough washing for a load. Tea for the others is whatever they fancy out of the freezer.

    NPM - hope you're feeling better x

Redruby - hope the neck soon feels better x

Anniemf - hope your cold soon goes x

Got a few small jobs to do before I leave for work.

have a great weekend all x

    Good morning guys,

It's been a funny old week here at chez smoky,I started with some sort of virus on Sunday evening and have been feeling fairly grim until yesterday when I have started to improve, allthough it does seem to be heading to my chest now as it is quite tight and I am becoming a little wheezy. (I smell like a vic's factory!) It really has knocked the stuffing out of me with the shivers, body aches, stuffed up nose, horrendous headache but no temperature. I have taken lots of vit d and sambucol which I believe have helped and do feel tons better than I did. The next hurdle will be the kids if they've caught it from me - time will tell.

DS1 has gone camping with the scouts and so peace reigns until tomorrow. I have to nip out to town today for a birthday pressie for a party DD is going to tomorrow, it's been pre ordered at Argos so it will be a quick trip to pick it up and also I need to iron the school uniforms. That will pretty much be it today.

Gentle hugs to all who are poorly and could do with one today.
Pen-pin, hugs to you hun - you really do have a tough time of it. I hope you are having a 'good' day today.
I hope everyone else enjoys their Saturday.

    Smoky. xxx

  • Hi Redruby
I will take loads of pix but haven't got a clue how to put them on here - something to do with opening a flicker account or something. I'm sure I'll need some sort of lead thingy as well, which may well be already packed! Will do my best though.
I suspect we will come home with more than pictures though! When DS lived with us (he now lives with his father) he was allowed to keep a pup from Lily's last litter. Sadly, this little pup passed away last year from epilepsy, aged only 3. DD is now making noises that it is her turn!!!

  • Morning everyone :hello:

Haven't posted for a few days as I've been getting the garden ready for the chickens. :j We've bought the house and ordered 4 Black Rocks which the girls have given crazy names but I'm hoping these will change. :o OH and I are building the run today. I shall mostly be [STRIKE]watching[/STRIKE] supervising. :D

Had a lovely delivery from the Boden Catelogue this morning. :j Took advantage of a great offer and while the clothes are expensive they will last forever and are part of my plan to invest in more quality and less quantity. before anyone has a go. ;) I do buy some clothes in charity shops but I deserve a treat once in a while. Am hoping the memory foam mattress we ordered will arrive today as my back is sore. It's been a bit of a spendy week. :o:money::money::money::rotfl:

The girls are away for the weekend so I am going to bribe OH with a quick tea and a trip to the pub if he finishes the hen run today. Other osiness is already done, ie washing out, kitchen cleaned and beds stripped. If I get a chance I will pick the blackberries, rosehips, rowan berries, haws and elderberries from the garden today but may leave it until tommorrow when I have more time for preserving.

Hope the neck is better soon Rubes. xxx
Your Son sounds like he's got it all sussed DG.
    I agree about Arlene DIva.
Healing thoughts to all the poorlies... NPM, Smoky, Molly, AnnieMF.
Lillibet, I planted garlic in peat pots last year and kept them in a tray in the garden until they were ready to be transplanted pots and all. They cropped brilliantly so worth a try. ;)

  • Morning Guys!

Smokey-I'm fine hun. Dont worry about me, just make sure you're feeling better soon and the kiddies are ok. Try and take it easy, I know easier said than done, but try....ok:D Hugs back at ya!

I'm in quite abit of pain this morning but generally feeling ok:j:j:j..nurse has been and gone and I have a temperature apparently:confused:..she will be back later to check on me. My throat has been a little sore and glands up but nothing to severe.

Anyway, WM has been on with some new towel I bought from M&S. They are a caramel colour and they were in a bale of 1 bath sheet, 2 bath towels, 2 hand towels and 2 flannels and were reduced to £7.50, so bought 2 bales and found a free delivery code;)....they are very good value for how cheap they were. Our black towels were from JL about 5 years ago and cost £30 for each bathsheet:eek::eek::eek::eek:.....back in the days.

Friend in the US sent over my birthday pressies which were 6 CD's that I have been after. They are all old skool from the 90's R'n'B that I love. Jodeci, Tevin Campbell, TQ etc....thanks Dazzie! He also popped in 2 of my fav Dove deo sticks that you can't get over here (much bigger sizes over there) and a folk art ornament.

DW is on atm and OH got out the 6 packs of braising beef from freezer, beef consomme (sp), thyme, shallots, olive oil, garlic, red wine for the Doubre (sp) of beef which I will try and cook later for this evening. I have worked that it should make us 4 portions for the 3 of us. I have some Lakeland soup bags which are great quality that they were offering free in the shop to use to freeze it once cooked and cooled. I hope I dont mess it up as its a very expensive dish for us:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:....Has anyone cooked this yet?

Must have a look at my end of term essay for the OU as I have a deadline for the beginning of October and havent even looked at it yet:o

OH has been reading his new book by Dan Brown and it all sounds very complicating....I will wait for the film:D

Anyway, hugs to everyone and hope you all have a great weekend.

BTW, there are alot of £10 off £50 spends at Tesco ATM and they have some great wines on their 3 for £10 deal....might be worth having a look for putting away for Xmas pressies etc:money:

    PP - glad you're ok:hello:

Diva - I also agree with you re Strictly. Arlene is a great loss to the programme, she knew what she was talking about. I'm still enjoying it though but am annoyed that it will be on at the same time as X factor:mad:

My cousin is running on the Great North Run tomorrow in aid of our local hospice - good luck to him!

  • Morning, everyone :) Sorry I've not been about the last couple of days - busy busy. Work has been tiring and by the time I've got home and cooked, I've not really had the energy to post :( At last, it's Saturday now, and I can have a bit of a catch up. Always nice :)

Anyway, I've had quite a week full of OS-iness, and I'm expecting it to continue today. Hopefully I've got time to clean the bathroom and kitchen, and there's a big pile of ironing to get done. Ah, well. I'm not sure, but I might have planned to blackberrying again with my friend (if there are any left around) - at any rate there's still lots I have to deal with from last weekend; crumbles to make, and pies, ready to last through the winter :D I might see if I can't find a strudel recipe and give that a go.

My legs are tingling at the moment. I'm trying to get the most out of my epilator to be even more OS and not buy razors, and as a result, my legs are all tingly. I could get used to it though, if it'll save me money! I am trying so hard to wean myself off of cola that I've had some quite bad headaches; DH has finally persuaded me to take it a bit easier and not do too much too soon, and I'm feeling a little better.

Quiet night in tonight with a film, I think. Tomato and bacon pasta for tea, and I've just remembered I've got to take some bread out of the freezer.

(((hugs))) to those in need, and I hope everyone has a good day.

    Kitchenbunny x
