hi ya, is anyone who has got TT BB having trouble singing into MSN Messenger? I have been unable to sign in for the past 3 days!

I use both and don't have any problems... might be worth downloading a newer version of messenger? Are you sure your firewall isn't blocking it?

got the latest version AFAIK, i have even tried it with my firewall turned off!

well thats strange, no microsoft site will load for me! they dont seem to time out, they just never load (i also cant access the talktalk site, and a few others, but 90% of site are ok as normal)

any sugestions?

I had the same problem here. I assume you connect via a router?

if so download the Dr TCP prog, change the MTU settings to 1400 then reboot. You should then have full access to MS sites and any others you can't connect to just now.

I cannot get in to hotmail lycos or even talktalk . Havnt been able to do so for the last 4 days!!. hung on the phone for 70 mins at 10 p a min then got cut off .Its a joke !!!Anyone know what i can do??


p.s whats the Dr TCP Prog?

Same problem here however it doesn't happen all the time. I have been having problems with it for about a week now. Thankfully I use my talktalk email more than I do msn . I have had talktalk broadband since last September and the problem has never happened before this week.

Download from there, and follow the instructions in my post and I guarantee you will have full access to everything again, any probs just ask.

Huge huge thanks to Beancounter.Did as he said and all ok now. Thank God for these forums and for people like Beancounter. Talktalk should be paying people like him as I was on the verge of telling them to stuff their talk 3 international package.!!!

Incidently what does this tweak do?. It certainly works but curiosity got the better of me lol!!

I think it changes setting in the registry although I am not certain. Glad you got it sorted out:)

I Did not have to tweak my router, it just started working again yesterday! how odd!

but thanks for the relpys everyone, I will keep this thread bookmarked incase it happens again.

new problem .The line keeps dropping if I leave my pc for any length of time.i.e everything ok as long as i keep using it but if I leave pc with no internet activity going on have to reset router each time?? anyone got any ideas?
