Do UPVC doors have to have such high thresholds?

    im sorry, i know im being really dim, if the threshold is high, how would dropping the brickwork make the threshold lower??? surely there would be an even bigger difference between the height of the threshold on the door and the floor??

    I think they are meaning, if you take out the course of bricks below the door, then the whole shebang, door/frame/threshold can be lowered by a bricks depth. This would mean instead of stepping out onto your tiny step, you step out directly onto the level of the ground outside.

    However, buying a low threshold door is a lot easier :p
