Back again; I take back what I said about SFE (although of course, this has just been an enquiry). Frase, you should give them a call and get some answers; I think you would find that you may in a likelihood be eligible for the £260 grant. I don't know if/how this may be affected by your employer paying the course fees but don't think that it is (the application process asks if you have a sponsor but I don't think that rules you out for the extra help, just the fee help).
All good.
PS -They said that I would be eligible based on 60 credits (made up of 2 x 10 and 2 x 20) leading to Certificate of HE at 120 credits so your qualification should attract the help I would say. There are details of how they work it out (% intensity and so on) on the website the ONW has linked.0 -
hey GTC, my enrollment was a "15 minute slot per person"......started at 10am finished at 12.30....so yeah i think me uni is gna be as helpful as this other crowd sound like lol. Is there a website that details requirements for this to apply? Like i said, im doing 2 double modules (30 creds each) and a single this year (155 cred) thus 75 credits, it is a 3rd yr PT of 5yr degree so its level 4.
That sounds a lot - even though I know you do mean 15 not 155...
good for you.0 -
posted same time

But this says im prolly not eligable
i will give them a call i guess. 0 -
hehe oops yeah i meant 15. and then this is only year 3 of 5 so the course continues. the fulltime course is 2 years and my partime 3 years so i check most the boxes, i think it might have something to do with where i am living though >.<'0

You should qualify if you're doing at least 60 credits.0

Can I just check what you mean?
You will get help if your course is 50% intensity against full-time; so are you saying that the course would only take two years if full-time and you will be taking three years to study it part-time so therefore less than 50% intensity? (Which, agreed, cancels out eligibility I think.) I'm not sure how it works if you are studying the third year of the degree that could technically be completed in a another two full years (5 year course); you need to check how many units per year would be studied for the full-time course, if you are studying 50% or more, I still believe you would get help (but I'm doubting myself a bit now).
Another thought: Is there some kind of interim qualification you could be studying towards, i.e. Diploma of Higher Education? That could be gained if you were to study what you are doing now for another year?0
