Tell your supplier to either get Parcelforce or Royal Mail to deliver or you`ll do business elsewhere0

hey supermum i have found that if you book a courrier via your paypal account it only costs 10.99 48hr so perhaps see about you booking the collection of your products with supplier. paypal use parcel force (if you go onto their site they dont have the 10.99 price its just via paypal)
hope that helps0 -

Thats interesting, does that price hold for NI to GB deliveries too, I tried to have a look in Paypal, but as I have no recent sales, I can't even get a sample price.

With Royal Mail it doesn't matter as the UK is covered equally and for the same price no matter the cost (e.g. if someone in London posts a letter to their next door neightbour and costs Royal Mail practically nothing they still pay the price of us posters in Belfast sending stuff to Aberdeen etc which costs alot more for Royal Mail to handle/ship (fly over lol)
Courier companies charge based completely on the cost:profit ratios

what gets me is ,If I post a letter to GB it has to go across the Irish sea and cost 39p .
To send the same letter down south cost 56p .
A fair point, but you can't have it both ways. Political stance aside, either you're in NI and want to be treated like you're in any other part of the UK regards postage (and quite right too, as per status quo), or you want cheaper "all-Ireland style" treatment of your post, island-wide.
As Northern Ireland is in the United Kingdom, my vote goes for the former option, universally.
As a side note, interestingly, post sent from ROI to NI is treated as domestic, cost wise.0 -
The problem is, the likes of Citylink, DHL charge next to nothing for mainland UK deliveries hence why alot of companies use them, however they seem to make up there money by over charging on of shore islands. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. Hi,
We've had a lot of bother with this too. Ebay is the worst if they use courier companies, but I find a lot of places will be happy enough to put small things into the royal mail. The reason it is apparently more expensive to post to the Republic is that they used to put all the mail on the train to Dublin, but once it arrived at the station there was no secure facility to put it. So now all the post goes to England first and then to the Republic. So I was told by the post office a couple of weeks ago.
Cheers,
BatCat0
