    ...no better or worse than yer average laptop or netbook (i.e. pretty low-fi). It has a mini jack audio out or 3xUSBs for better audio solutions, mind.

    I just bought a Lenovo netbook, but it's going back - the battery pack sticks out like a growth on its backside.
    That's the 6 cell batteries. Asus have designed their most recent models to sort of flatten them out (search google for pics of 1005ha). IMO the bulges are a good thing as you get more battery life, and resting on a desk it brings the height up at the back.

    I got the NC10 back in Feb, fantastic buy! I use it as my main computer most of the time, my old laptop has been gathering dust since I got this.

    I use it on travel and holidays and at work, works well with a dongle for mobile broadband, am very impressed with it all round:D

    Are they all like that?
    If so, I'll go for the smaller battery life...
    I want to be able to put it flat in a bag, but with the Lenovo I would either have to take off the battery or put it in at an angle and/or risk it getting damaged.

    Best way to find out is to look for reviews or pictures via google just make sure you're looking at one with a 6-cell battery, most of them have the protrusion unfortunately. The Asus 1005HA has sort of a wedge shape to incorporate the larger battery.
  • The NC10 (1 GB RAM, 160 GB HDD, 10.1 inch TFT Display, LAN, WLAN, BT, XP Home, Black) is down to £259.40 at Amazon UK but there are other versions of the machine, so do compare spec-for-spec.

    Good find! >>link<<

    It's the 6 cell battery version, so no differences there. :)

    Wrong thread. That's an MSI Wind.

    Sorry, I wasn't aware this was a Samsung Netbook Appreciation Thread, I thought this forum was for bargains.:confused: The MSI netbook I posted the link to has a very similar spec to the Sammy, granted without the 6 celll battery but the warranty is twice as long and it costs less than £200. It's an alternative for the genuine bargain-hunter to consider, in other words.:rolleyes:

    <snip>

    It isn't dear. It's the Samsung NC10 best price thread, if anything.
