Anybody who pre-ordered Windows can ditch that order now, cause there's an even better one out (Well, it will be next week)
For a limited time, Windows 7 Home Premium or Windows 7 Professional will be available for only £30. This offer is only for students, hence why it's in here.

Note: you will need a valid .ac.uk email address and this is the upgrade version so you will need to be running a legal version of XP or Vista to upgrade from.
Good deal though

I'm getting it for free as a family member is doing a Microsoft course at Uni just now. :dances:

Just out of interest does anyone know if it will be more compatible with certain things as we've had a lot of problems with Windows Vista and downloads and drivers etc that were fine on XP.0

More likely to be the opposite. my antivirus had problems until last week with compatibilty issues.0 -

I haven't encountered any compatibility issues. As a rule of thumb, anything that works in Vista will work in 7.0 -

Can anyone confirm this? I know with MS Office for students you could also pay a bit extra for a disk to be sent out in case you had to re-install.0 -
You can wait until next Thurs to find out?

I know the MSDN version (which if you are a computing student you should have access through uni to! And its a free copy!), you have to download and then put it on DVD yourself.0 -
Cool. I wasn't going to bother upgrading (being a poor student), but it's too good an offer to turn down.
